Female delegate studies party documents while looking after baby

A Weibo post with pictures showing a female delegate of the party congress studying materials at night in her hotel room while she takes care of her baby daughter has sparked fierce discussions on Chinese blogosphere.

The post published by @èŠå一画 has been forwarded for over 2,000 times on Sina Weibo, China’s biggest microblogging site. It said Luo Wei, a delegate from the southwest China’s Sichuan province, was reading party documents while looking after her baby.

Many Weibo users think the pictures are a little too much.

@光明的祈祷A said, “Are you gonna train the baby to be an official? Well her resume would be: born in 2012; working since 2012 as an intern with the government department.”

@å‘过æ¥å§ said, “Why can’t the guy who took pictures for them help look after the baby?"

When the news that the party allowed two female delegates to bring their babies to the congress was first revealed, many thought highly of the measure and considered it “humane.”

Luo is one of the two female delegates. She was reported to donate her liver to a stranger for free for the first time in Chinese organ transplant history. Her baby is just five months old.
