China's first official Weibo account under State Council opened

China’s first official Weibo account under the State Council seems to bring more interactions between the government and netizens.

On November 10, just two days after the beginning of Chinese ruling party’s national congress, an account verified as “Bulletin by State Council” was opened on Sina Weibo, the country’s biggest microblogging platform.

Its first post says it will release China’s major policies and guidelines timely and accurately. It has totally published 15 posts, most of which are last mount’s documents approved by the State Council.

Despite the old documents it posts, Weibo users still pay a lot of attention to the account. So far it has had over 300,000 followers. But people cannot comment its posts but forward them.

By the end of this October, there are more than 53,000 Weibo accounts set up by official departments or governments.
