Apple’s iPad takes over 70pc of China’s tablet market: report

Apple’s iPads accounted for 72.6 percent of the entire tablet market, which is up 20 percent on the previous quarter, according to research firm Analysys International.
China-based Lenovo Group was No. 2 but far behind the iPad, at just 8.38% market share.
Samsung's tablet PC saw a 7.69-percent quarterly decrease in its market share, which stood at 3.59 percent in the second quarter of 2012.
Li Yanyan of Analysys noted that local consumers were not able to buy the new iPad until Q2. Li said a price cut in China for the older iPad 2 model helped boost iPad sales during Q2.
Apple began selling its third-generation iPad in China on July 20 after a legal dispute with a Chinese company that has since been settled.
Apple’s global share of the tablet space was about 68.2 percent for Q2, according to data from IDC.
