Home Depot to run online business on 360Buy.com

Responsible of 360Buy confirmed to reporter from National Business Daily that they have recently reached a cooperation agreement with Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement chain. While Tmall, the old adversary of 360Buy, said whether Home Depot will cooperate with Tmall is still unclear.

On Sept 14, Home Depot closed its 7 big box stores in China and announced to transfer its strategy to Internet-based sales.

Carol Tome, CFO of Home Depot expressed that “the cooperation between Home Depot and 360Buy has lasted for about 10 days and their cooperation with Tmall is still under discussion.”

“360Buy will provide platform for Home Depot to open online stores. As the platform is just started for operation, commodities are still in process of uploading and auditing”, said responsible of 360Buy, answering the question of cannot find any results when searching “Home Depot” on the homepage of 360Buy

Insiders hold a skeptical attitude towards the transformation of Home Depot into e-commerce as retailers generally prefer to play “e-commerce” tricks when they suffer with sales difficulties.

Just before Home Depot closed its stores in China, another US consumer electronics retailer giant - Best Buy came back into Chinese market by opening online shop after it had shut up all its offline stores in China for about one year and a half.
