Legend Holdings Wine offically named as Fenglian Wine

Legend Holdings' wine subsidiary has been officially named Fenglian Wine in its first public appearance on Sept 28 to announce finish the full acquisition of Hunan WuLing Wine Co Ltd.
In June 2011, Legend Holdings bought 39 percent of WuLing Wine’s stock.
"It is an important part of Legend Holdings’ strategy to enter into the liquor industry", said Zhao Lingxin, vice president of Legend Holdings. "We will devote ourselves to build a leading wine group in China."
"The official public appearance of Fenglian Wine indicates that Legend Holdings has entered the accelerating period of development in liquor industry", said Zhao.
Previously, Legend Holdings, the parent company of Lenovo Group (00992.HK), has respectively spent 130 million and 1 billion yuan buying Hunan Wuling Wine and Hebei Bancheng Wine and announced its taking full ownership of Kongfujia Jiu for 400 million yuan on Sept 16.
However, Fenglian Wine will not build its own liquor brand, but will continue the way of mergers and acquisition, according to Lu Tong, president of Fenglian Wine,
After 28 years of development, the business of Legend Holdings has broadened from IT to many other sectors such as real estate, chemical materials, modern agriculture as well as foods and modern service, in which the liquor industry is a very important part.
According to Lu Tong, compared with the relatively extensive development patterns of traditional liquor companies, Legend Holdings claims to have advantages through a practiced management model in management, marketing and corporate culture.
Legend Holdings, having succeeded in several new sectors besides IT, announced on Sept 28 its plan to unveil a public offering some time between 2014 and 2016.
