Xi Jinping fan account excites Sina Weibo

An account claimed to be run by Chinese ruling party boss Xi Jinping’s fans has caused excitement on Sina Weibo, China’s biggest microblogging platform.
The account, named "the learning fan group" (with a similar pronunciation to "fans of group learning of Xi" in Chinese), has tracked Xi’s movements, including many close-up photos of Xi.
Some of the photos were taken in an office, one showing Xi reading a newspaper, in another Xi and another man are watching a computer screen.
The account also refers to Xi as "Xi Dada" meaning Boss Xi, and his wife Peng Liyuan as "Peng Mama" or Mum Peng.
The account has attracted nearly 500,000 followers so far.
Many netizens have speculated that Xi's secretaries are behind the account. But the micro-blogger claimed that he or she is just a common person who is a fan of Xi.
“I am not a party member or official, and have nothing to do with Xi’s secretaries,” the blog’s founder posted on Tuesday.
The person also said the pictures the account released are all from media or some fan contributions to the blog.
It also says the account welcome any tips about Xi’s routes.
